Is McIlhenny Company, makers of TABASCO® brand Pepper Sauce Products, a private or publicly held company?
McIlhenny Company is still privately owned by the same family that founded the company in 1868. Family patriarch Edmund McIlhenny planted the first red pepper plants on Avery Island in the 1860's and went on to invent the famous TABASCO® Sauce.
